On the 7th July the Choir competed at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in the Male Voice Choir section against four other Choirs , Bolserstone, Northampton, Rossendale  Meantime Chorus from London.

The Brythoniaid chose as their main piece a new composition by the composer Garerth Glyn with the words by our very own Geraint Vaughan Jones. The piece “ Gwyr Aeth Gatraeth” tells of the struggle between the early displaced Welsh tribes who had been forced to move to the North of England and Southern Scotland by the Saxons. The piece is very challenging with complicated rhythms and discords between the four voices of the Choir. In complete contrast the Choirs other pieces were “ When I Need a Friend” by Coldplay and the 23rd Psalm by Eric Jones. The Brythoniaid were placed second with  90 marks with the Barbershop Choir , Meantime Chorus first with 91 marks. Very close in an excellent competition of very high standard.
