Elizabeth Ellis

Elizabeth was born in Cowbridge, Glamorgan but has lived most of her life in the Dolgellau area of Meirionethshire. She studied at the Royal College of Music in London, specialising in Composition and in playing the piano and harpsichord. Whilst a student, she won the celebrated Chapell Prize for her aptitude on the piano and also a scholarship to receive further specialist tuition from Herbert Howells and George Malcolm. She has travelled Europe, Russia and the United States, both as soloist and accompanist . In 1992 she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Music. She has been the Brythoniaid’s official accompanist since 1984 and has played for many international artists such as Bryn Terfel, Gwyn Hughes Jones, Rhys Meirion, Mary Lloyd Davies and many others.
